The Beginnings
I
am Chairman and Founder of the WIS-whatsinstore stores. Born In
Brisbane Australia. I started out in advertising in the 1970’s
after Brisbane’s 1974 floods.
I
started to sell advertising for billboards and television commercially.
I have been in selling and advertising in all it’s different
forms. From door to door, real estate, mlm, where I branched out to
sell commercial products to businesses.
I started out on my own at the age of 17 years. I
thought it was possible to walk from a home environment into the big wide
world and everything would come together. No way. All truly successful
people will tell you, in order to succeed at anything in life you need to
do the things that successful people are already doing: You need to do
the things that already work. You need to follow a system that has
already proven itself to get the results you desire. These reasons alone
gave me the edge to seek knowledge in advertising and marketing.
Simply starting in advertising made me
to use the creative abilities that lay latent within me. James Allen wrote the book "As a Man Thinketh" in the early 1900's, inspired through daily meditation in the hills of Leicester, England. Allen didn't realize at the time the impact his little treatise would have on the world and almost didn't publish it. This little book only found it's way into print at the insistence of his wife.

So I went to the library where I could obtain more
on what Mr Hill was saying. My first job was selling. Now most everyone
knows that the new person is pushed to accept everything they say and do
as gospel, the group =team
work. Well after seeing what team work was I did things on my own back.
Changed it around to suit me as Mr Hill said. You see, if you don’t
feel right about something you have to question it and for it to work it
has to be a part of you. Many times doing it as everybody else is doing
it, it’s not you, individuality is the part of building success.
The game of marketing your way has to be on your playing field. You can
learn from the successful people and implement their ways, but you have
to put You
into it for it to be your strength and your faith in your desire. Your
feelings of enthusiasm are a secret of strategy for a desire to be Yours.
Another individual who was influential in building America at the time of
the depression made this quote;
“ If you can give your
child only one gift, let it be enthusiasm.”It’s
your source of any desire. So I continued to read Mr Hill and asked
myself,’ where did he get his inspiration from?’ There I
found it! The source of which many individuals of our time have built
their great wealth, including Napoleon Hill, the author of Think &
Grow Rich, was massively influenced by Haanel's most famous work The Master Key System:

My dear Mr. Haanel: I believe in giving credit
where it is due, therefore I believe I ought to inform you that my
present success and the success which has followed my work as President
of the Napoleon Hill Institute is due largely to the principles laid down
in The Master-Key System.
You are doing a good work by helping people to
realize that nothing is impossible of accomplishment which a man can
create in his imagination. Surely my own experience proves this.
